Oktoberfest comes from the wedding festivities surrounding the wedding ofThe crown prince, who later became King of Bavaria Lugwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hilburghausen. The wedding took place October 17, 1810 and was celebrated with horse racing and other popular amusements of the day. These celebrations were soon shown to agriculture, to integrate the same time and place where they have grown enormously since then.
